JAX Open-Source Release
JAX's official repository citation metadata states that 2018 corresponds to the project's open-source release, and Google Research's 2018 retrospective says Google released JAX that year as an accelerator-backed NumPy system supporting automatic differentiation and using XLA infrastructure.
