CANONICAL HISTORY
Support-Vector Networks
Corinna Cortes and Vladimir Vapnik published Support-Vector Networks in the September 1995 issue of Machine Learning. The paper describes the support-vector network as a learning machine for two-group classification that maps input vectors nonlinearly into a high-dimensional feature space and constructs a linear decision surface there, extending the approach to non-separable training data.
